Haiti Broilers S.A. (HB) is a joint venture company between the Jamaica Broilers Group Limited (JBG) and outstanding Haitian business partners, Tropic S.A.The purpose of the company is to help develop the poultry farming industry through the supply of quality inputs to Haitian farmers so they can launch profitable farming ventures. Starting in 2011, Haiti Broilers has established a Hatchery, a Feed Mill, a Processing Plant, and a Farm in order to achieve its goal.
Recently, HB has developed a “Buy Back” program in which it contracts to local farmers the growing of Broiler birds to supply the processing plant. Haiti Broilers also hired a team of Technical Representatives that operate island wide to provide farmers with free technical and veterinarian support so they can utilize modern scientific techniques to obtain profitable production.
HB has been hatching chicks and producing premium feeds from its facilities at Lafiteau under its Hi-Pro brand name. As a major purchaser of grains HB seeks to buy local corn and sorghum grown all around the country in an effort to support local production. Haiti Broilers also sells farm equipment and pharmaceuticals to support the farming community.
HB is also equipped with a chicken processing plant which produces chilled and frozen poultry meats under the Le Chic Poulet brand. These fresh and tasty products are popular in supermarkets, restaurants and hotels. The processing plant is supplied by farmers who are part of the “Buy Back” program. This program allow HB to outs ource the growing of the broiler birds, according to its standard, by supplying them the inputs. Haiti Broilers’ large farm is locatedin Thomazeau. In addition to daily production of table eggs, which are marketed under the HB Oeufs brand, the farm also produces ready-to lay pullets to supply to farmers producing eggs all over the country.!
Haiti Broilers has quickly become a reference in the poultry industry in Haiti as reliable supplier of quality inputs. In its five years of existence, HB became the biggest supplier of inputs with a network of more than a 1,000 farmers. Also HB is now the country’s biggest table eggs’ producer!
